New York State VOAD Focus for 2017
As many of you know, the new leadership of the New York State VOAD has been meeting since September 2014 for the purpose of determining the status of our organization and developing a plan to move forward. As a result of our discussions, we have focused upon the following goals for 2017:
1. Ensuring the membership directory is current and accurate
2. Developing and enhancing collaborative relationships with all VOAD entities within New York State and beyond.
3. Providing training and collaboration opportunities for our members
4. Developing a committee structure which builds upon existing capacities and networks of our members
This has been a very busy few months and looks to be so for the future. We stand ready to support our members and the clients they serve in preparing for and responding to disasters. Please let us know your needs and thoughts; we will do our best to respond with the care and expertise you should expect.
